Markets and Snacks in Barcelona

LA BOQUERIA

Everyone will tell you to go here.  I think it’s cool but like, a little overhyped.  The area around the Boqueria is a little bit shady (las ramblas, very touristy, has a times square vibe with less electricity), the market itself is still probably a must see.  There are hundreds of stalls selling everything you could imagine!! Some of my vegetarian friends were grossed out by the butchers, but I thought they were cool because i’ve watched a lot of top chef in my day. The fresh juices were amazing, and tons of candy, nuts, fruit… literally every fresh food imaginable.

SANTA CANTERIA

this market in el born is like a more low key version of the Boqueria and has a nice restaurant inside it. We sat outside but it was really beautiful inside too! Food was really yummy as well! This market feels way more local and neighborhoody than la boqueria so I appreciated it.

Happy Pills

This tiny candy store is so cute and fun!  Marketed as ‘pills’ the color coded gummis are adorable gifts.  Find your favorite sticker, in English, Spanish, or Catalan to adorn your prescription bottle!

La Xurreria Manuel San Roman

famous churro spot! Ordered, finished, ordered more <3

GOCCE DI LATTE

GELATO! It's gonna be hot out there, so you’re gonna need some cool treats for sure. Really fun and funky flavors too.

CREMERIA TOSCANA

ice cream spot! Really tasty but not necessary to go out of the way probably - but walking distance from Taktika so… we went.
